Identify and

Committee
Advise the
Board and Executive Committee on relevant political,
economic and social issues of concern to the
Electric Association,
its member companies and their customers;

and with Executive Committee guidance, implement
appropriate action in the area of governmental
affairs.

Regulatory Committee
Address electric
state regulatory issues and the coordination of
company activities on generic issues; Coordinate,
with appropriate industry approval, the development
of comments on issues related to laws, regulations,
policy statements, regulatory actions and practices.

Transmission & Distribution Committee
Identify and
implement industry best practices related to the
design, characteristics, disposition, use or operation
and maintenance of overhead and underground transmission

Equipment & Protection Committee
Consider
the design, development, application, characteristics,
operation, maintenance, and testing of primary
protection and control equipment for generation,
transmission and distribution of electrical energy.

Committee
Study
and evaluate federal, state and selected local
environmental legislation and rulemaking;
Advise management,
other committees, and member companies of such
effect and concerns; Communicate with government
agencies and public on the effects of environmental
policies and regulation on member companies; Develop
positions and proposals for action to serve the
needs of the Association and its members; Attempt
to insure consistent and equitable administration
of environmental regulation of electric and gas
utilities.

Committee
Advise the

Regulatory Matters
Advise
the Associations Board, Executive Committee,
and other committees on the PA PUC, FERC and other
municipal, state and federal agencies in all matters
related to laws, rules and regulations, principles
and practices pertaining to the gas industry in
PA; and with guidance from the Board, to take
action in regulatory areas as appropriate.
Gas
Transmission & Distribution Committee
Consider
matters relating to design, construction,
operation and maintenance of gas transmission and
distribution facilities in Pennsylvania, including
state and federal standards and regulations.
Maintain liaison with state government agencies
for the consideration of problems of mutual
concern. Disseminate information for the
instruction of gas industry personnel. Current
Working Groups of the Committee include: Corrosion
and Leakage; Field Services and Measurement; Gas
Pipeline Integrity Management and Distribution
Integrity Management; Pipeline Safety, Regulations
and Public Awareness; Plastics; Operator
Qualification and Mutual Aid.
