About the Energy Association of Pennsylvania
The Energy Association of Pennsylvania represents the regulated energy utility industry before Pennsylvania state government, including the executive and legislative branches and various regulatory agencies that affect gas and electric utility policies and practices. We work to ensure effective representation of our member utilities while advancing sound energy policy in the Commonwealth.

About the Role
This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in regulatory affairs, public policy, and association management. Working directly with the Director of Policy and senior leadership team, you will support critical initiatives while learning about state regulatory and legislative processes, energy policy, and stakeholder engagement. This position is ideal for students interested in public policy, government relations, energy, business administration, or data analytics.

Key Responsibilities
Administrative Support (60% of time)
• Prepare and distribute materials for the Association’s Consumer Service, Legislative, and Regulatory committees
• Format and compile information for committee meetings and presentations
• Coordinate meeting logistics and follow-up documentation
• Maintain and update website content including consumer case digests, conference information, and regulatory reports
• Assist with document formatting, distribution, and file management

Research and Analysis (40% of time)
• Conduct research on regulatory developments across state jurisdictions
• Assist with data gathering and analysis for Public Utility Commission and General Assembly inquiries
• Prepare background research for external meetings and presentations
• Compile legislative and regulatory briefing materials
• Support strategic initiatives through policy research and analysis

Qualifications
Required:
• Currently enrolled as a college sophomore or junior pursuing a degree in public policy, political science, business administration, communications, data science/analytics, or a related field
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills

Preferred:
• Previous internship or coursework in government, public policy, or business
• Basic web content management experience
• Interest in energy policy, utility regulation, or state government
• Familiarity with Pennsylvania government or regulatory processes
